Barrows equipment, obtained from the Barrows minigame, is a valuable asset for players in RuneScape. However, it comes with a unique feature: degradation. In this article, we will explore how Barrows items degrade and the methods available to repair them.
Barrows equipment degrades as it is used, even if the player is using protection prayers or not taking damage. This degradation occurs over a period of 15 hours of combat, after which the equipment becomes unusable until repaired. The degradation process does not affect the performance of the equipment, but it will lose all stat bonuses when fully degraded.
There are two ways to repair Barrows equipment: using an NPC or an armour stand in a player-owned house. NPCs who can repair Barrows equipment include Bob in Lumbridge, Tindel Marchant in Port Khazard, Dunstan in Burthorpe, Squire in the Void Knights’ Outpost, and Aneirin in Prifddinas. The cost of repair varies depending on the internal degradation state of the item and the player’s Smithing level. Using an armour stand is generally cheaper than using an NPC.
To minimize repair costs, it is recommended to take out the helmet of an armour set and degrade it slightly by being hit 2-3 times in combat. This ensures that the helmet degrades slightly more than the other pieces, allowing you to track when the entire set needs repair.
