How to Reinstall Windows Live Photo Gallery on Windows 10

If you’re a Windows user who has been using Windows Live Photo Gallery for years, you may have noticed that it’s no longer available in Windows 10. Microsoft discontinued the program in favor of the built-in Photos app. However, if you still prefer using Windows Live Photo Gallery, you can reinstall it on your Windows 10 machine. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Uninstall Windows Essentials

Before you can reinstall Windows Live Photo Gallery, you need to uninstall the existing Windows Essentials package. Here’s how:

Press Windows R to open the Run dialog box.
Type appwiz.cpl and click OK to open the Programs and Features window.
Select Windows Essentials 2012/Windows Live Essentials from the list of installed programs.
Click Uninstall/Change or Remove to open the Windows Essentials Setup window.
Click Remove one or more Windows Essentials programs.
Tick the box next to Photo Gallery to select it for removal.
Click Uninstall to remove Windows Live Photo Gallery and any other selected programs.

Step 2: Download Windows Live Photo Gallery

After uninstalling Windows Essentials, you can download Windows Live Photo Gallery from the official Microsoft website. Here’s how:

Go to the Windows Live Essentials download page on the Microsoft website.
Click the Download button to start the download process.
Once the download is complete, run the installer to begin the installation process.

Step 3: Install Windows Live Photo Gallery

After downloading the Windows Live Essentials installer, you can install Windows Live Photo Gallery. Here’s how:

Double-click the installer file to start the installation process.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Once the installation is complete, you should be able to find Windows Live Photo Gallery in your list of installed programs.

That’s it! You’ve successfully reinstalled Windows Live Photo Gallery on your Windows 10 machine. You can now use the program to manage and edit your photos, just like you did before.

It’s important to note that while Windows Live Photo Gallery is a powerful photo management tool, it may not be compatible with all the latest features and updates in Windows 10. Additionally, Microsoft no longer provides official support or updates for the program, so you may encounter some issues or security vulnerabilities over time.

If you’re looking for a more modern and feature-rich photo management solution, you may want to consider using the built-in Photos app in Windows 10 or exploring other third-party photo management software available on the market.
