Elytra are one of the most coveted items in Minecraft, allowing players to soar through the skies with ease. However, these rare treasures have limited durability and can break over time. If you find yourself with a broken Elytra, don’t despair! There are two simple methods to repair it and get back in the air.
One way to repair a broken Elytra is by combining it with another broken Elytra at an anvil. This method preserves any enchantments on the Elytra and can be done in the following steps:
Open your inventory and place the anvil in the crafting grid
Place the two broken Elytras in the anvil
The repaired Elytra will have a small amount of additional durability, usually around 5 points
While this method is convenient, it’s important to note that you’ll only gain a small amount of durability, so it’s not the most efficient way to repair an Elytra.
The most effective way to repair a broken Elytra is by using Phantom Membranes, which can be obtained by defeating Phantoms. To repair an Elytra with Phantom Membranes:
Open your inventory and place the anvil in the crafting grid
Place the broken Elytra in the anvil
Add Phantom Membranes to the anvil (it takes 4 membranes to fully repair an Elytra)
The repaired Elytra will have full durability and retain any enchantments
This method is more time-consuming as it requires hunting Phantoms, but it’s the best way to fully restore a broken Elytra while keeping its enchantments.
With these two methods, you can easily repair a broken Elytra and continue your Minecraft adventures in style. Happy flying!
