How to Repair a Corrupted BitLocker Encrypted Drive in Windows 10/8/7

If you have a corrupted BitLocker encrypted drive in Windows 10, 8, or 7, you may be able to repair it using the built-in BitLocker Repair Tool or a third-party data recovery software like Hasleo Data Recovery. Here’s how to repair a corrupted BitLocker encrypted drive:

Using the BitLocker Repair Tool

The BitLocker Repair Tool, also known as “repair-bde”, is a command-line tool included with Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and later operating systems. You can use it to recover data from a corrupted or damaged disk volume that was encrypted with BitLocker.

To use the BitLocker Repair Tool:

  • Open an elevated command prompt.
  • Type the following command, replacing “E” with the letter of your BitLocker encrypted drive and “F” with a local drive where you want to extract the data:
    repair-bde E: F: -pw -F
  • Press Enter, then enter the BitLocker password for the encrypted drive when prompted.

If you don’t have the BitLocker password, you can use the recovery key instead:

  • Open an elevated command prompt.
  • Type the following command, replacing “111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111” with your 48-digit BitLocker recovery key:
    repair-bde F: E: -rp 111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111-111111 -F
  • Press Enter.

Using Hasleo Data Recovery

If the BitLocker Repair Tool is unable to help you recover lost files, you can try using Hasleo Data Recovery, a professional BitLocker data recovery software.

To recover data from a corrupted BitLocker drive with Hasleo Data Recovery:

  1. Download, install, and run Hasleo Data Recovery.
  2. Select the BitLocker Data Recovery mode.
  3. Select the drive where you lost your files, then click the “Scan” button to find all BitLocker encrypted partitions on the device.
  4. If prompted, enter the BitLocker password or 48-digit recovery key. If you don’t want to enter it, click “Skip”.
  5. Hasleo Data Recovery will list all found BitLocker encrypted partitions. If you entered the password or recovery key, it will show whether it matches the partition.
  6. Double-click the BitLocker encrypted partition you want to recover data from. If you previously entered a matching password or recovery key, Hasleo Data Recovery will start scanning for lost files. Otherwise, you’ll be prompted to enter it again.
  7. Preview the found files by path and type, select the ones you want to recover, and click “Recover” to save them.

If some files are not found, you may need to try a different recovery method or seek professional help.

In conclusion, repairing a corrupted BitLocker encrypted drive can be done using the built-in BitLocker Repair Tool or third-party data recovery software like Hasleo Data Recovery. The method you choose will depend on your specific situation and the tools available to you.
