How to Reprint Your South Carolina Fishing License in 2024: A Comprehensive Guide

In the state of South Carolina, having a valid fishing license is a must for anyone aged 16 and older who wants to enjoy the thrill of fishing. Whether you’re a resident or a non-resident, the rules are the same – you need to have a license to legally fish in South Carolina’s waters. But what happens if you lose your license? Don’t worry, there are several ways to get a duplicate copy in 2024.

Requesting a Duplicate License Online

The most convenient way to get a duplicate fishing license in South Carolina is by requesting it online through the Go Outdoors SC website. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Visit the Go Outdoors SC website at https://license.gooutdoorssouthcarolina.com/Licensing/CustomerLookup.aspx
  2. Log in to your account or create a new one if you haven’t already
  3. Navigate to the “Licenses” section and select “Duplicate License”
  4. Follow the prompts to complete your request and pay the $3 fee (if applicable)

Once your request is processed, you’ll receive your duplicate license via email or mail, depending on your preference.

Requesting a Duplicate License by Phone

If you prefer to speak with someone directly, you can request a duplicate fishing license by calling the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) at 803-734-3833. The professional on the other end will guide you through the process and help you get your duplicate license.

Requesting a Duplicate License in Person

Another option is to request a duplicate fishing license in person at one of the following locations:

  • SCDNR regional offices
  • One of the 500 license vendors located across the state

When requesting a duplicate license in person, you’ll need to provide a valid photo ID and pay the $3 fee (if applicable).

Requesting a Duplicate Lifetime or Disability License

If you hold a lifetime or disability fishing license, you can request a duplicate copy for free by calling the SCDNR at 803-734-3833 or by emailing licensing@dnr.sc.gov.

Using the Fish|Hunt SC Mobile App

In addition to the methods mentioned above, you can also download your fishing license electronically using the Fish|Hunt SC mobile app. This app allows you to renew, purchase, and store your licenses and permits on your smartphone or tablet, which counts as personal possession of your license.

Losing your fishing license can be frustrating, but with the various options available in South Carolina, getting a duplicate copy is a straightforward process. Whether you choose to request it online, by phone, or in person, you’ll be back on the water in no time, enjoying the beauty and excitement of fishing in the Palmetto State.
