What to Do If You Lost Your Louisiana Lifetime Hunting and Fishing License in 2024

Losing your Louisiana lifetime hunting and fishing license can be frustrating, but the good news is that the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has made the process of obtaining a duplicate card more convenient than ever before. In 2024, current lifetime license holders can now purchase a duplicate card online, from an approved retail vendor, by mail, or in-person at the LDWF headquarters office in Baton Rouge.

Purchasing a Duplicate Lifetime License Online

One of the most convenient ways to obtain a duplicate lifetime license in 2024 is by purchasing it online at LouisianaOutdoors.com. This option is faster and easier than ever before, thanks to the LDWF’s commitment to making things more convenient for their customers. However, it’s important to note that if you purchase your duplicate card online, a $5 convenience fee will be assessed by the LDWF license vendor.

Purchasing a Duplicate Lifetime License by Mail

If you prefer to obtain your duplicate lifetime license by mail, you can complete a Duplicate Lifetime Application form and submit it to the LDWF. The form can be downloaded from the LDWF website at https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/assets/Licenses_and_Permits/Files/duplicate_lifetime_license_app.pdf. Once you have completed the form, you can mail it to the LDWF headquarters office along with the required fee of $7.50.

Purchasing a Duplicate Lifetime License at the LDWF Headquarters Office

If you live near Baton Rouge or plan to visit the area, you can purchase your duplicate lifetime license in-person at the LDWF headquarters office located at 2000 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70898. This option allows you to obtain your card immediately without having to wait for it to be mailed to you.

Locating an Approved Retail Vendor

In addition to purchasing your duplicate lifetime license online, by mail, or at the LDWF headquarters office, you can also obtain it from an approved retail vendor. To find an approved vendor near you, you can use the LDWF’s Outdoor Explorer Tool, which is available at https://ldwf.maps.arcgis.com/apps/MapSeries/index.html?appid=4c4a4d9526c248c080c3eaa4808b9bea.

Applying for a Duplicate Lifetime Card with a Hunter Education Number

If at any time in the future you would like a Lifetime card to reflect your Hunter Education number, you can apply for a Duplicate Lifetime card by submitting a notarized affidavit, proof of your Hunter Education card, and the fee of $7.50 to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Attn: Licensing, P. O. Box 98000, Baton Rouge, LA 70898-9000.
