First, check if the unit is receiving power. Make sure the power cord is plugged in securely and that the circuit breaker has not tripped. If the breaker has tripped, reset it and try turning on the AC again.
If the unit still doesn’t power on, locate the “Reset” button on the Friedrich plug. This button may have been triggered due to a power surge or outage. Press the “Reset” button and then press the “On/Off” button on the unit. The “Reset” button should remain compressed after the unit turns on.
Resetting the Circuit Board
For QuietMaster Programmable models, you can reset the circuit board by pressing the “Moneysaver” button and the “Check Filter” button at the same time for 3 seconds. This will clear any error codes and reset the unit.
If the “Check Filter” light is on, you can reset it by pressing the “FAN” and “SPEED” buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. This will turn off the filter reminder light without resetting the entire unit.
If none of these steps work, it’s best to contact a qualified HVAC technician for further assistance. They can diagnose the issue and provide a more comprehensive solution.
