Why Can’t I Repair My Weapons in Fallout New Vegas?

In Fallout: New Vegas, the ability to repair weapons and armor is a crucial mechanic for maintaining your character’s effectiveness in combat. However, some players have reported issues with repairing their weapons, specifically when attempting to do so through merchants. Damage Threshold and Weapon Repair

To check a weapon’s DT, look for the “Shield” icon next to its name in the repair menu. If the shield is intact, it means the weapon has a high DT and cannot be repaired by merchants. This is a common issue with unique or high-level weapons, as they often have higher DT values.

The Jury Rigging Perk

The Jury Rigging perk is a solution to the problem of repairing high-DT weapons. This perk allows you to repair a weapon using a similar weapon as a repair material. For example, you can repair a unique assault rifle using a standard assault rifle.

To obtain the Jury Rigging perk, you need to have a Repair skill of 90 and reach level 14. Once you have the perk, you can repair any weapon using a similar weapon, regardless of its DT value.

It’s important to note that the Jury Rigging perk is not available in the base game of Fallout: New Vegas. It was introduced in the Gun Runners’ Arsenal add-on, so if you are playing the base game without any add-ons, you will not have access to this perk.
