If your iPhone 4 suddenly stops turning on or charging, don’t panic. There are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to get your device back up and running.
Reset the iPhone
The first step is to try resetting your iPhone 4 while it’s connected to a power source. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
Charge the Battery
If the reset doesn’t work, the issue may be with the battery. Try charging the iPhone 4 for at least 20 minutes using the original USB power adapter. If you see the charging icon, let it charge for a while before trying to turn it on again.
Restore the iPhone
If the iPhone still won’t turn on or charge, you may need to restore it using iTunes. Connect the iPhone to a computer, launch iTunes, and click the “Restore iPhone” button. This will erase all data on the device, but it may fix the underlying issue.
Replace the Screen
If none of the above steps work, the problem may be with the iPhone 4’s screen. In this case, you may need to replace the screen to get the device working again.
