If you’re experiencing issues with the earpiece speaker on your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, you may be eligible for free repair under Apple’s service program. Here’s what you need to know:
The Issue
Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 may have a component failure in the receiver module, resulting in no sound coming from the earpiece during phone calls.
The Service Program
To address this issue, Apple has launched a worldwide service program that covers affected iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices for up to 3 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
Eligible Devices and Service Options
If your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro is experiencing no sound from the earpiece, you can take advantage of this program. The service is available free of charge through Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Preparing for Service
Before you take your device in for service, be sure to back up your iPhone to iCloud or your computer. If your iPhone has any other damage, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the earpiece repair, and there may be an additional cost associated with that repair.
