Generac Acquires DR Power Equipment
In 2015, Generac Holdings Inc. announced the acquisition of Country Home Products, the parent company of DR Power Equipment. This strategic move allowed Generac to expand its portfolio of professional-grade, engine-powered products, primarily sold under the DR Power Equipment brand name.
The acquisition was a perfect fit for Generac’s business, as it aligned with the company’s “Powering Ahead” strategic objective of diversifying its end markets with new products and services. The acquisition also provided additional scale to Generac’s residential engine-powered tools platform and created opportunities for cross-selling and cost synergies.
Following the acquisition, DR Power Equipment’s management team continued to lead the business, and the DR and Neuton brand names joined Generac’s family of brands, serving a broader, global customer base.
