Ruined Leather Scraps are a common item in World of Warcraft that can be used by leatherworkers to craft various types of leather armor. While these scraps may seem like a worthless byproduct, there are actually a few useful things you can do with them.
Crafting Light Leather
The primary use for Ruined Leather Scraps is to craft Light Leather, a basic leather material used in many leatherworking recipes. By using the “Light Leather” ability in your leatherworking interface, you can turn 3 Ruined Leather Scraps into 1 piece of Light Leather.
This is an important way for leatherworkers to level up their profession, as crafting Light Leather provides skill points until you reach level 20 in leatherworking, at which point it turns yellow. The process continues to be useful even at higher levels, as Light Leather is a common ingredient in more advanced recipes.
Vendor Selling
If you have an abundance of Ruined Leather Scraps and don’t need the Light Leather, you can also simply sell them to a vendor for a small amount of gold. While not a huge moneymaker, this can be a convenient way to clear up inventory space.
