In Final Fantasy XIV, repairing your own gear is a convenient way to keep your equipment in top condition. However, many players wonder if it’s possible to repair other people’s gear as well. Let’s explore the options available in the game.
Repairing Your Own Gear
As mentioned earlier, you can repair your own gear in FFXIV by either visiting an NPC Mender or by using Dark Matter to repair the items yourself. NPC Menders can be found in various locations throughout Eorzea, such as towns and aetheryte camps. They will repair your gear for a fee, which can add up over time, especially for high-level equipment.
The more cost-effective method is to repair your gear yourself using Dark Matter. To do this, you’ll need to meet certain crafter class level requirements and have the appropriate grade of Dark Matter for the item you want to repair. This method allows you to repair your gear anywhere, even in dungeons, as long as you’re not in combat.
Repairing Other Players’ Gear
Unfortunately, in Final Fantasy XIV, you cannot directly repair other players’ gear. The game does not currently have a feature that allows you to mend your party members’ or friends’ equipment. The only way to repair someone else’s gear is if they do it themselves or visit an NPC Mender.
Some players have suggested that adding a feature to let players repair their teammates’ gear would be a convenient addition to the game. It would save the hassle of having to leave a dungeon or activity to repair broken equipment. However, as of now, Square Enix has not implemented such a feature in FFXIV.
