Tectonic armour in RuneScape is a unique type of degradable magic power armour that has some interesting repair mechanics. While it cannot be repaired normally, there is a way to consolidate the charges and extend the life of this high-level gear.
Tectonic Armour Degradation and Repair
Tectonic armour degrades over time, losing charges with each use in combat. Once it reaches 0% charge, the armour will completely vanish, a process known as “degrading to dust”. However, there is a way to avoid this fate:
Two pieces of Tectonic armour can be combined to consolidate the remaining charges. This allows players to effectively “repair” the armour by transferring the charges from one piece to another.
It’s important to note that the armour is only tradeable until it is first worn. Once worn, any partially degraded pieces cannot be traded. Additionally, Tectonic armour cannot be augmented once it has been worn, even if it has not been used in combat.
Dyed Tectonic Armour
Tectonic armour can also be recoloured using various dyes. Dyed Tectonic armour behaves similarly to the standard version, degrading over time but able to be repaired by combining two pieces.
Dyed Tectonic armour that has been fully degraded will enter a “broken” state. Players can then add Tectonic energy to the broken piece to restore it, rather than the armour being destroyed completely.
