Where to Find the Rear Washer Fluid Reservoir in a Toyota Highlander

If you own a Toyota Highlander, you may have found yourself searching for the rear washer fluid reservoir, only to come up empty-handed. The good news is that it’s actually quite easy to locate, and the process should only take you about 4 to 6 minutes.

Accessing the Engine Compartment

The first step is to go to the front of your vehicle, not the back. Lift the hood and secure it in place using the prop arm found on the passenger side of the engine bay. This will give you full access to the engine compartment.

Locating the Washer Fluid Reservoir

Once the hood is open, take a look into the engine compartment, focusing your attention on the area nearest the wiper blades. You should be able to spot a white, somewhat transparent reservoir with a cap that has a water symbol on it. This is your windshield wiper fluid reservoir.

The rear wiper reservoir should be located right next to the windshield wiper fluid reservoir.

Filling the Rear Washer Fluid Reservoir

To fill the rear washer fluid reservoir, simply unscrew the cap and pour in the appropriate washer fluid. Be sure to fill it all the way to the top, as it can take some time for the fluid to make its way to the rear of the vehicle.

Once the reservoir is full, run the rear windshield washer for about 10 seconds to help flush out any air in the lines and ensure the fluid is reaching the rear wiper.

Troubleshooting Rear Washer Issues

If you’re still having trouble with the rear washer, there are a few things you can check. First, make sure the reservoir is full and that the pump is functioning properly. You can also inspect the hoses and connections for any blockages or leaks.
