How to Repair Weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, weapon durability is a key gameplay mechanic that forces players to constantly adapt their arsenal. While most weapons will eventually break beyond use, there are a few ways to repair or replace certain special weapons in the game.

Repairing Rusty Weapons

Rusty weapons, including Rusty Swords, Rusty Halberds, and Rusty Claymores, can be repaired by using Rock Octoroks found around Death Mountain and in the Gerudo Highlands. Simply drop the rusty weapon in front of a Rock Octorok or throw it into its mouth while it’s sucking in air, and the creature will spit out a brand-new version of the weapon, likely the Traveler’s variant.

Repairing the Champions’ Weapons

After completing each Divine Beast, Link receives the signature weapon used by that Champion 100 years ago. These special weapons, including the Lightscale Trident, Scimitar of the Seven, Shard of Dinraal, and Great Eagle Bow, can break over time just like other weapons. However, they can be repaired by visiting the corresponding Champion’s hometown and speaking to a specific NPC.

If either the Lightscale Trident or the Ceremonial Trident breaks during the course of the game, Link can visit the Hammerhead workshop at Zora’s Domain. Dento, the Zora blacksmith, can repair either Trident so long as Link brings him the right material. To repair the Ceremonial Trident, Link needs a Zora Spear and 5 pieces of Flint.

It’s important to note that the Master Sword, obtained after completing the Master Trials, is the only weapon in Breath of the Wild that will never break. However, it does require a short cooldown period after extended use.
