Can Alliance Characters Unlock the Nightborne Allied Race in World of Warcraft?

The Nightborne are a playable allied race in World of Warcraft that was introduced in the Legion expansion. While the Nightborne are primarily associated with the Horde faction, it is possible for Alliance characters to unlock and gain access to this race as well.

Unlocking the Nightborne as an Alliance Character

To unlock the Nightborne as an Alliance character, you will need to complete the Suramar storyline and associated achievements. This process involves the following steps:

Complete the “Khadgar’s Discovery” quest, which will start the Suramar storyline. This quest can be accepted by any level 45 character, regardless of faction.
Work through the “Good Suramaritan” and “Insurrection” questlines, which will involve exploring the city of Suramar and assisting the Nightborne in their rebellion against the Burning Legion.
Reach Exalted reputation with the Nightfallen faction, which is the main Nightborne faction in Suramar.
Complete the required achievements, such as “Loremaster of Suramar” and “Insurrection.”

Once you have completed these steps on an Alliance character, you can then use a level 110 Horde character to complete the final recruitment scenario and unlock the Nightborne as a playable allied race.

Faction Considerations

It’s important to note that while the Suramar storyline and reputation can be completed on an Alliance character, the final step of actually recruiting the Nightborne is limited to Horde characters. This means that your Alliance character will not be able to directly play as a Nightborne, but they can still contribute to unlocking the race for your Horde characters.
Additionally, the faction of your character does not affect the Suramar reputation or progress. If you have already earned Exalted reputation with the Nightfallen on a Horde character, that same reputation will be shared with your Alliance character.
