Can You Cure Zombie Villagers in Minecraft?

In the world of Minecraft, players often encounter zombie villagers – villagers who have been infected and transformed into the undead. However, there is a way to restore these unfortunate creatures back to their normal state. By following a specific process, you can cure zombie villagers and turn them back into regular villagers.

Applying the Weakness Effect

The first step in curing a zombie villager is to apply the Weakness effect to them. This can be done in several ways:

Throwing a splash potion of Weakness at the zombie villager
Using a dispenser to shoot an arrow of Weakness at the zombie villager
Having a witch throw a potion of Weakness at the zombie villager

Administering the Golden Apple

Once the zombie villager is under the Weakness effect, the next step is to give them a golden apple. This will initiate the curing process, and the zombie villager will begin to shudder and shake.

The curing process typically takes between 2-5 minutes, during which time the zombie villager will have increased strength, making it important to isolate and restrain them.

It’s worth noting that the curing process can be slightly sped up by surrounding the zombie villager with iron bars and/or bed blocks within a 9x9x9 cube centered on the zombie villager. However, this only results in a 4% increase in the curing speed.

Once the curing process is complete, the zombie villager will be transformed back into a regular villager, ready to take on their new role in your Minecraft world.
