In the popular tactical role-playing game Fire Emblem Awakening, weapon durability is a key mechanic that adds depth to the gameplay. Weapons have a limited number of uses before they break, forcing players to strategize their attacks and manage their resources carefully.
Weapon Durability in Fire Emblem Awakening
Each weapon in Fire Emblem Awakening has a specific number of uses, typically ranging from 20 to 45 depending on the weapon’s strength. When a weapon is used to attack an enemy, its durability decreases by one. If a weapon’s durability reaches zero, it breaks and can no longer be used.
One exception to this rule is that missing an attack with a physical weapon does not reduce its durability. However, magic attacks still consume durability even if they miss the target.
Mitigating Weapon Usage
The Armsthrift skill, introduced in Fire Emblem Awakening, can help players mitigate weapon usage. When equipped, this skill has a chance of preventing the wielder’s weapons from losing durability when used in battle.
Additionally, in Fire Emblem Awakening, two instances of the same item can be merged together in the preparations menu, combining the remaining uses of both items into a single item. This allows players to conserve their weapon durability and extend the lifespan of their weapons.
