In the fantasy-based MMO New World, players will need to keep their gear in top condition to effectively tackle the challenges of Aeternum. Fortunately, the game provides a straightforward system for repairing weapons, armor, and tools.
Repairing Gear in New World
To repair an item in New World, you’ll need to select it in your inventory menu and then press the “Repair” button. The keyboard shortcut for this is holding down the “R” key and clicking on the item you want to repair.
When repairing an item, you’ll need to pay a certain amount of gold as well as use a resource called “repair parts.” Repair parts are a unique currency in New World that is obtained by salvaging gear you no longer need.
Salvaging Gear for Repair Parts
To get repair parts, you’ll need to salvage weapons, armor, and tools that you don’t plan on using. To salvage an item, simply hover over it in your inventory and press “S” left-click. This will break down the item and give you a number of repair parts, as well as some gold.
It’s important to note that repair parts have a cap of 2,000, so you can’t hoard an unlimited amount. However, you can craft repair kits at a workshop using your engineering trade skill, which can then be used to repair your gear.
