If your Citizen Eco-Drive watch has stopped working or the second hand is moving in two-second intervals, it may be time to perform an all reset. This process can help restore your watch to its factory settings and get it working properly again.
Preparing for the Reset
Before you begin, make sure your watch is fully charged. If the power reserve is insufficient, charge the watch first. You’ll also need to have the watch’s caliber number handy, which you can find on the caseback of the watch.
The All Reset Process
Pull the crown out to position 2.
Press and hold the upper right button B and the lower right button A at the same time for 4 seconds or more, then release them.
Press and release the lower right button A.
Press the lower right button A to change the target to correct.
Rotate the crown to adjust the hand/indication.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each hand and indication.
Push the crown in to position 0.
Press and release the lower right button A to finish the procedure.
After the reset, the second hand should point to the 15-second mark, and the alarm will sound to confirm that the all reset is complete.
Correcting the Reference Position
Once the all reset is finished, you’ll need to correct the reference position of the hands and indications. The correct reference positions are:
Hour, minute, and second hands: 0 hour 00 minute 0 second
Function hand: slot 1
Date indication: midway between “31” and “1”
To adjust the reference position, press the lower right button A to cycle through the different hands and indications. Rotate the crown to adjust each one to the correct position.
After correcting the reference position, you can proceed to set the time and calendar on your watch.
