How to Use System File Checker (SFC) to Repair Corrupted Windows System Files

Running DISM to Repair Windows

The Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool can be used to repair Windows images if SFC is unable to fully resolve the issues. To run DISM:
Open an elevated Command Prompt
Enter the following command and press Enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Allow the command to finish running before closing the Command Prompt window, which may take 5-10 minutes
If the DISM results state anything was changed, restart your PC and you should then be able to run SFC successfully.
