The PlayStation VR (PSVR) system comes with a limited hardware warranty from Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (SIE). According to the warranty terms, the PSVR hardware, including components in the retail box, is covered for material defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the original date of purchase.
Key Points About the PSVR Warranty
The warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada.
If the PSVR is determined to be materially defective during the warranty period, SIE’s sole liability is limited to repairing or replacing the product with a factory-recertified unit at no charge to the original purchaser.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by use with non-compatible products, commercial use, modifications, acts of God, misuse, or if the serial number has been altered or removed.
The warranty is provided in lieu of all other express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, which SIE disclaims under these terms.
Except as expressly stated in the warranty, SIE excludes all liability for loss of data, profit, or any loss or damage suffered by the purchaser or any third party.
It’s important to note that the warranty period may vary in other regions. For example, in Singapore, the PSVR warranty is also one year, with no option for online registration for the 90-day extra warranty available for other PlayStation hardware.
