If your SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 player’s battery has died, you can replace it yourself with a few simple steps. Here’s how to do it:
Gather the Necessary Supplies
A plastic prying tool to open the case
A pencil-style soldering iron
Silver-bearing solder, 62/36/2, with a diameter of 0.022 or 0.015 inches
Copper desoldering wick for removing excess solder
A replacement battery, such as a 1400 mAh battery of the same size as the Sansa Clip
Open the Case
Use a plastic prying tool to carefully open the case of the Sansa Clip.
Replace the Battery
Unsolder the old battery from the circuit board.
Solder the new battery to the positive and negative leads, making the leads about 5-10 cm long and passing them through a hole you make above the clip hinge.
Glue the new battery onto the hinge plastic.
Reassemble the Player
Seat the power and volume buttons into place before reassembling the case.
